Meet Dr. Melyssa

Dr. Melyssa, grass, wood fence

Hi! I’m Dr. Melyssa, a Naturopathic Doctor in Ontario, Canada. I help patients struggling with chronic digestive issues, pain, fatigue, migraines, hormonal imbalances, and unexplained symptoms that never seem to make sense.

My role is to understand your health story with depth and compassion. I take the time to truly listen to your symptoms, your experiences, and how your health is affecting your life. Using comprehensive lab testing and a root-cause approach, I investigate what’s happening beneath the surface and connect the pieces to give you a clear explanation of why you’re feeling the way you do.

By addressing the underlying imbalances, rather than simply managing symptoms, we work to restore your health from the inside out and reduce the likelihood of flare-ups in the future. Every step of your treatment plan is tailored to your needs and designed to feel manageable and sustainable.

We work together every step of the way. You set the pace, and I guide you with expertise, encouragement, and evidence-informed care. Together, we build a plan you can follow with confidence as you move toward lasting, meaningful improvement in your health.

My Story

Before I became a naturopathic doctor, I was a patient in the very position you may be in right now. For years I battled debilitating migraines, chronic unexplained pain, and exhaustion no amount of rest seemed to fix.

I saw doctor after doctor and was prescribed pain killers, anti-inflammatory medications, I had brain scans and blood tests, and in the end, I was told that they couldn’t find anything wrong with me. My options were continue with the medications that didn’t help much or suffer through it.

I know what it’s like to feel like your body is betraying you, while feeling like you’re getting nowhere in the medical system.

By chance, I stumbled across naturopathic medicine. Everything changed when I booked an appointment with a naturopathic doctor. She actually listened and didn’t just mask my symptoms. She looked deeper. She saw that my gut microbiome was out of balance and gave me a plan rooted in nutritional changes, balancing the gut microbiome, healing my gut, and incorporating stress management. Within months my pain faded, my energy returned, and the migraines stopped. That transformation changed everything.

I created this practice because I believe no one should have to live in “survival” mode, feeling bloated after every meal, exhausted, anxious about how long a flare will last, or scared to have a social life. I work with people who silently wonder “Is this ever going to get better?” My mission is to help you get back to living the life you love.

My practice is dedicated to helping people whose symptoms don’t neatly fit into a box. People struggling with chronic digestive issues, IBS or suspected SIBO, food sensitivities, persistent fatigue, pain, hormonal imbalances, brain fog, anxiety, and depression.

Here, you’ll get more than a quick fix. You’ll get a full picture, holistic approach for long-lasting improvements in your health.

If you’re ready to stop guessing at what’s wrong and start healing from the inside out, you’re in the right place.

Let’s work together to restore your health, your confidence, and get you back to living the life you deserve.

My Credentials

I bring over a decade of education and clinical training to the patients I support. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba, a program deeply rooted in understanding how food, metabolism, and human physiology interact to influence health. This degree explored nutrition from every angle, including the biochemistry of how nutrients function at the cellular level, how diet shapes hormones and inflammation, and how nutritional patterns impact disease progression and prevention.

My background in nutritional sciences allows me to approach every patient’s case with a deep understanding of how food and physiology work together, and how targeted nutrition can be one of the most powerful tools for healing. It gave me a strong scientific foundation that continues to shape the way I assess symptoms, interpret labs, and design individualized treatment plans.

This scientific foundation led me to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, where I completed the four-year Doctor of Naturopathy degree with over 1,200 hours of supervised clinical training. During my naturopathic education, I completed a year-long focused internship supporting patients with Fibromyalgia and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), which deepened my passion for root-cause, patient-centred care.

I continue to expand my expertise through ongoing continuing education in areas such as the gut microbiome, digestive health, pain and fatigue, fibromyalgia, autoimmunity, and hormonal health, allowing me to offer treatment that is compassionate, evidence-informed, and aligned with the latest research.
